Producing Certified FiberMax Cotton gives you the opportunity to sell lint rarely penalized for deficiencies in quality and demanded worldwide.
What are the benefits of certifying my FiberMax cotton?
Bayer CropScience has developed the Certified FiberMax Cotton program to help increase demand worldwide for the FiberMax cotton you grow. Through domestic and overseas promotions, Bayer CropScience has invested in reinforcing the value of your cotton to spinning mills and textile manufacturers. This enhances the profit potential for your crop.
How is Certified FiberMax Cotton identified?
Certified FiberMax Cotton bales may carry the Certified FiberMax Cotton Seal™ to identify genuine FiberMax cotton produced by participating FiberMax cotton growers. All Certified FiberMax Cotton bales will be traceable using a master database linked to the Permanent Bale Identification number.
How do I certify my FiberMax cotton?
The process for certifying your FiberMax cotton is simple. There are two easy steps to protecting the value of your FiberMax cotton: documentation and bale registration. You need to document your planted FiberMax cotton seed right here on CertifiedFiberMax.com. At harvest, the USDA Permanent Bale Identification numbers are registered. When sold through a certified FiberMax cotton merchant, Bayer CropScience will issue a certificate of authenticity to the purchasing mill.
What are the deadlines for certifying my FiberMax cotton?
Documentation of planted FiberMax seed and registration of bales must occur before a certificate of authenticity is requested by your certified merchant.
Does the certificate of authenticity guarantee the cotton's quality?
No. The certificate of authenticity only certifies the fiber was grown from FiberMax cotton seed. Specific quality information for each bale may be obtained via the Permanent Bale Identification number through the USDA Classing Office.
Why is Certified FiberMax Cotton premium cotton?
The FiberMax brand represents cotton seed developed from elite germplasm with the potential for superior quality lint and high yields. The cotton grown from this seed has demonstrated consistent and valuable HVI-measured fiber quality properties. Bayer CropScience has developed a certification system to help you protect the value of your FiberMax cotton by identifying and marking it as Certified FiberMax Cotton. This certification assures spinners and merchants they are getting genuine FiberMax lint.
How does Certified FiberMax Cotton compare to other lint?
FiberMax varieties are known to produce lint with improved length, strength, micronaire and uniformity compared with typical Upland lint. Advanced spinning technologies require these quality characteristics. Although U.S. Crop averages have deteriorated in staple length and micronaire, FiberMax cotton seed has continued to represent improved fiber quality characteristics.
